About Us
Ligon Discovery has pioneered the application of Small-Molecule Microarray (SMM) technology for applications in drug discovery. Together with its pharmaceutical and academic partners, Ligon is using SMM technology to identify the next generation of small-molecule therapeutics against novel, challenging target classes.
Ligon was founded in 2009 with an exclusive license to Harvard University patents based upon the Small-Molecule Microarray technology developed by Ligon co-founder Angela Koehler and her colleagues at Harvard University and the Broad Institute.
Ligon provides screening services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic institutions using its SMM technology platform. The flexibility of Ligon’s SMM platform enables partners and customers to screen any compound set – whether from Ligon’s collection, their own or from a third party. The key benefits of SMM are its flexibility, both with regard to compounds and targets, its massive scalability and unprecedented cost-effectiveness.
In addition to partnered screening, Ligon is also developing small-molecule therapeutic candidate molecules against novel oncology targets that it has identified using its SMM platform. Ligon is seeking partners to further develop these molecules into clinical candidates.
